Mouat junior football team rolls past Dukes

The W.J. Mouat Hawks junior football team wrapped up its exhibition schedule with a 36-20 win over the Windsor Dukes of North Vancouver.

The W.J. Mouat Hawks junior football team wrapped up its non-conference schedule with a 36-20 win over the Windsor Dukes of North Vancouver.

The Hawks raced out to a 30-8 lead behind the strong play of quarterback Coleton Barker, who made great decisions all game long and completed 6-of-8 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 40 yards and a score. The offensive line played a solid game, opening holes for running backs Dion Pellerin, Cameron Tomm and Nelson Lokombo, while defensive standouts included linebacker Reuben Reardon and defensive ends Arsh Brar and Alex Johnson.

The Mouat juniors begin league play this Thursday at home vs. the Bateman Timberwolves. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m.
