After over a two and a half year absence, Mamba Fight Night is returning to Abbotsford.

Mamba Fight Night 9 is scheduled to take over the Abbotsford Centre on Saturday, Nov. 6 with a packed card full of bouts.

Event organizer and Canadian fighting legend Kultar “Black Mamba” Gill stated that the ninth edition of the event is heavily focused on boxing matches, but also features kickboxing and mixed martial arts contest.

Gill was the headline draw at MFN 6 in Abbotsford back on March 8, 2019 when he tapped out American Anthony Ruiz at 4:02 of round one. That match was Gill’s retirement match after a storied career competing across the globe.

He runs the popular Abbotsford-based Mamba MMA gym and has transitioned into the role of promoter for the ninth show. MFN last ran a show on Jan. 31, 2020 in Burnaby. The pandemic shut down plans for other cards until now.

Like all other events at the Abbotsford Centre, MFN 9 is a vaccinated event and all attending must be prepared to produce proof of double vaccination.

A preliminary card has been scheduled, but the card is subject to change. All fighters must be cleared medically prior to the event in order to compete.

Tickets for the event can be found at ticketmaster.ca/event/11005B2EB4A02B5B.

The planned main event features Abbotsford’s Gagan Gill taking on Winnipeg fighter Kristian Bouchard in a pro MMA fight. Gill has a record of 3-1, while Bouchard has a record of 2-0. The pair will be competing at a 145 pound weight limit.

Gill defeated Grant Gorsenger in round one at MFN 8 on Jan. 31, 2020 and previously posted a win at Mamba Fight Night 4 back in 2017. Bouchard last fought on Nov. 9, 2019 by posting a win in Brandon, Man.
