Abbotsford defenceman Noah Juulsen received some heady recognition recently, as he was invited to Hockey Canada’s U18 team selection camp.

The camp, to be held Aug. 2-5 in Calgary, brings together 44 players, half of whom will be picked for the Canadian entry at the U18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Juulsen is coming off a strong rookie season with the WHL’s Everett Silvertips, registering 10 points and a +12 rating in 59 regular-season games.

“It’s pretty exciting,” he said of the Hockey Canada training camp nod. “Hopefully I can make that team, but even in not, it’s something to build off of going into the year.”
