Abbotsford hockey player Noah Juulsen has been named to Team Pacific for the World U17 Hockey Challenge in Nova Scotia next month.
Team Pacific is comprised of the top under-17 players from B.C. and Alberta, and Juulsen, a defenceman, earned a roster spot after a solid start to the season with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League. Juulsen has three assists and a +3 rating in 17 games.
The 2014 World U17 Hockey Challenge brings together the top players in the world born 1997 or later, and runs Dec. 31 to Jan. 4 in Cape Breton. Five of the 10 teams in the field are Canadian regional squads, while international entries include the U.S., Sweden, Russia, Germany and the Czech Republic.
