Abbotsford senior high school basketball teams continue their push towards provincials.

With around six weeks to go until provincials, local senior high school basketball teams continue to jockey for position.

On the girls' side, the Yale Lions are thriving in AAA. The Lions are a perfect 3-0, and are in first place in the Fraser Valley's East division.

Yale defeated Sardis 60-49 on Wednesday, beat W.J. Mouat 63-48 on Jan. 9, and took down the Abbotsford Panthers 66-44 on Jan. 5. The Lions now rank seventh in the province.

Right behind the Lions are the Panthers, who sit eighth in the province and have a record of 1-2.

The MEI Eagles, unranked, are also 3-0 in league play, while the Mouat Hawks are winless in three games.

Meanwhile, the Abbotsford Christian Knights rank fourth in the A conference.

The Rick Hansen Hurricanes senior boys team sit third in the AAA conference. MEI ranks ninth in AAA.

The ACS Knights are the only other ranked team boys in Abbotsford, as they sit sixth in the AA conference.

Bateman (AAA), Mouat (AAAA) and Yale (AAAA) were all honourable mentions in the top ten for their respective conferences.
