Abbotsford golfer Adam Hadwin missed his chance to play in the U.S. Open for the second straight year.

Playing in a sectional qualifier in Maryland on Monday and Tuesday, Hadwin shot rounds of 74 and 71, which left him tied for 12th. There were just seven berths into the Open up for grabs at the tournament.

Hadwin played three PGA Tour events last season, including the U.S. Open, where he tied for 39th.

He is currently playing in the Mexico Open, a Nationwide Tour Event, and his opening round score of four-under 68 had him tied for seventh.
