Hadwin in the money at Mexico Open

Abbotsford’s Adam Hadwin earned his fourth top-25 finish on the Nationwide Tour.

His seven-under-par 281 left him tied for 17th in the Mexico Open at the El Bosque Golf Club in Leon. The event wrapped up on Sunday.

The finish was a payday of $9,062 for Hadwin, leaving him with $53,900 in earnings so far. He ranks 39th on the tour, and the top 25 will qualify for PGA Tour status in 2013.

Local golfer Nick Taylor finished in seventh place at the 2012 Times Colonist Island Savings Open in Victoria over the weekend.

In the Canadian Tour event with a $150,000 purse, Taylor shot 67-70-69-68 to finish up at -6, earning him $4,800.
