Hadwin and Taylor playing in McGladrey Classic

PGA Tour has been sweet to local Abbotsford products.

Abby products Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor are well on their way to being PGA Tour regulars this week as they take part in their third consecutive weekend tournament, the McGladrey Classic in Sea Island Georgia.

Hadwin shot eight-under in the fourth and final round of last week’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Open to erase a triple bogey on his sixteenth hole of the third round and finish in a tie for tenth place overall (with a score of 13-under).

The rally earned him $137,433, bringing his season total to $151,323.

Taylor made his first PGA cut at the Shriners Open and finished tied for 56th overall with a four-round total of minus five. After the second round, Taylor actually found himself tied for 14th courtesy of a round score of minus-six, which vaulted him more than fifty positions up the leaderboard. His first Tour winnings amount to $13,764.

The McGladrey Classic runs until Sunday, and is the third of four fall PGA Tour events that occur before the first reshuffle of Tour rankings. The reshuffle will rank golfers by their earnings through the first four tournaments, affecting their ability to get into future PGA events this season.
