The Abbotsford Centre has been without a major tenant since 2014.

The Vancouver Giants will not be making a move to Abbotsford.

The Western Hockey League team's five-year lease with the Pacific National Exhibiton's Pacific Coliseum expires this summer, and rumours have been circulating that the team is looking for a new home.

Vancouver Giants owner Ron Toigo was seen at the Langley Events Centre on March 5 during the Vancouver Stealth National Lacrosse League game, and several media outlets have reported the Giants are negotiating with LEC officials about a potential move.

However, Abbotsford's 7,000 seat Abbotsford Centre building, which has remained without a major tenant since the Abbotsford Heat left town in 2014, is off the table as a possible new home.

Toigo told The Province newspaper on Friday that he is not considering Abbotsford as an option for the Giants.

The LEC, which has a capacity of 5.276, currently houses the Stealth and the British Columbia Hockey League's Langley Rivermen.
