The Abbotsford Heat waved goodbye to their leading scorer on Thursday, as Blair Jones was recalled by the Calgary Flames.
The Flames summoned Jones after trading fourth-line winger Tim Jackman to the Anaheim Ducks for a sixth-round draft choice.
Jones had been lighting up the AHL in the early going, pacing the Heat with 20 points (eight goals and 12 assists) in 16 games. The 27-year-old Central Butte, Sask. native counted four power-play goals among his total, and had formed a productive partnership with centre Ben Street, with Max Reinhart and Michael Ferland each serving stints on the unit's left wing.
The Heat wrap up their seven-game road trip with Saturday and Sunday games vs. the Iowa Wild.
