Abbotsford Falcons junior football teams excelled at the Battle for the Axe tournament in New Westminster on Sunday.

The Falcons sent a pair of pee wee clubs and a bantam team to the event, with title wins in both divisions.

The bantams beat out teams from Chilliwack and North Surrey to capture the crown.

The pee wee division featured both the Falcons White and Black squads, and the final game saw the two Abbotsford teams battle it out for top spot. In the end, the Black team earned its second tournament win already this preseason.

Both Abbotsford teams outlasted squads from New Westminster, Vancouver, Coquitlam, Chilliwack and Surrey.

The teams next head to Maple Ridge this weekend for the Knights of the Roundtable tournament.
