The Abbotsford Cardinals continued to impress on Tuesday evening, plating a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge the North Delta Blue Jays 3-2 at DeLair Park.

With the score tied 2-2, pinch hitter Jesse Braun hit a one-out single, then advanced to third base on a wild pitch by Blue Jays pitcher Ryo Takenaka.

Cards second baseman Coleton Besse played the hero, lofting a sacrifice fly to drive in Braun for the game-winning run.

Abbotsford pitcher Daniel Koo also turned in a terrific performance, striking out four over seven innings while surrendering just one earned run.

The victory, combined with a weekend split vs. the Victoria Eagles (a 4-1 win and an 11-2 loss), boosted the Cards' record to 11-4, second-best in the B.C. Premier Baseball League, trailing only the Langley Blaze (13-3).

The Cardinals are at a tournament in Okotoks, Alta. this weekend, and return to DeLair Park for a doubleheader vs. the Coquitlam Reds on Sunday, May 19 (12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.).
