Abbotsford hockey prospect Kellan Tochkin was on the move last Sunday, as the Vancouver Canucks traded his rights to the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Canucks sent Tochkin and a fourth-round draft pick to Carolina in exchange for forwards Zac Dalpe and Jeremy Welsh.

Tochkin, originally signed by the Canucks as an undrafted free agent in 2009, spent last season (his first as a pro) with the Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League, notching 15 goals and 29 assists in 56 games.

Prior to the trade, Tochkin had a chance to play in Abbotsford last week, facing his hometown Heat in AHL exhibition action as a member of the Utica Comets, the Canucks' farm team.
