Abbotsford residents now have the chance to celebrate Canada's birthday by hitting the ground running.
For the first time ever, the Running Room is offering the Abbotsford Canada Day five kilometre run on Friday at 9 a.m.
The event sees competitors complete two laps of Mill Lake, starting at the water park.
Individuals can register as an individual or families can register together in the family five kilometre division. There is also a free one km kids run race occurring at 8:40 a.m. at the start line near the water park. Interested kids need to sign up early as there is a maximum of 50 participants in that race.
Organizers recommend registering by today (Wednesday), with a deadline set for midnight. Those interested can register online at runningroom.com, or by stopping in the store on Sumas Way.
