The University of the Fraser Valley women's soccer team has signed Carley Radomski, a member of the Whitecaps Girls Elite program.

Radomski, who attends Langley's Walnut Grove Secondary, has played locally for Langley FC and Magnusson Ford Mariners FC. The midfielder has also worn the maple leaf in international play, representing Canada at the CONCACAF U17 World Cup qualifying tournament in Guatemala in May 2012.

Cascades head coach Rob Giesbrecht, whose team is coming off a 6-5-1 regular season and a Canada West playoff berth, said he was "thrilled" to add an athlete of Radomski's calibre.

"Her ability to play at an advanced pace and intensity level will allow her to play a pivotal role as our team continues our progression to be an elite Canada West program," Giesbrecht said. "Carley also possesses the character that we look for; she is a committed athlete that is determined to be successful. She fits in very well to our young, ambitious team and we cannot wait for her to join us."

Jesse Symons, director of the Whitecaps Girls Elite program, described Radomski as a dynamic player who boasts the versatility to line up at midfield or the backline.

"She has tremendous short and long range passing ability which will help start attacks as well as keep possession," Symons said. "(She is) an excellent teammate and a player really focused on improving and helping her team have success first and foremost."
