Eagles seniors Sadie Ball and Jill Ratzlaff – both 5’10” outside hitters – have committed to join the Bearcats in the fall.

Ball was the No. 3-ranked recruit in the province, and her sparkling resumé includes helping the Eagles to gold at the B.C. AAA tournament in 2009, and earning MVP honours along the way. She was a first team all-star at AA provincials in 2010 as MEI finished fifth.

Ratzlaff was a member of MEI’s 2009 title team, and earned second team all-star honours at provincials last fall.

Jaclyn Penner, a libero, rounds out the Bearcats’ recruiting class. She was a four-time medalist at the Manitoba provincial AA championships, winning two gold, one silver and one bronze with Elton Collegiate of Forrest, Man.

“Jill is a versatile player with a lot of upside,” said Harrison, who was hired as Bearcats head coach last month. “She is very athletic and will solidify our outside hitting and our defence.”
