BCJALL exhibition action comes to Abbotsford later this month.

The British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League is coming to Abbotsford for an exhibition game.

The Abbotsford Minor Lacrosse Association announced that an exhibition game featuring the BCJALL’s Burnaby Lakers and Langley Thunder will occur at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre on Sunday, April 14.

The game gets underway at 1 p.m.

Local lacrosse fans will see a very familiar face in the game, as it will be the first-ever appearance for Abbotsford product Ryan Sheldrake. The Abbotsford Warriors product was chosen fourth overall in the 2024 BCJALL by Burnaby.

Sheldake starred for many years with both the Warriors and the Abbotsford-based Valley Attack field lacrosse programs.

Notable achievements include winning gold in 2018 during his U13 year and securing bronze in the 2023 provincials with his U17 team. In 2021, he clinched gold at the US Box Nationals with the Fusion’s U15 team.

The BCJALL regular season gets underway in May and Sheldrake’s first game will see the Lakers host the Port Coquitlam Saints at the Bill Copeland Arena on May 15.

The Abbotsford game will see doors open at 11:45 a.m. and tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. There will also be a 50/50 draw, raffles and a cash-only concession available.
