The Bates and Chartier teams took home the top prizes at the Ledgeview Mixed Invitational last weekend.

Brian and Judy Bates were the low gross winners, shooting 148 over the course of the two-round event. They edged Raymond and Helen Lim (150) and Len and Joey Gibbons (151).

Bob and Suzette Chartier were tops on the low net side of things. Their score of 123.2 was good enough to beat Thomas Saulnier and Mona Morrison (126) and Len and Heather Shaw (126.2).

The tournament drew a field of 116 golfers, and raised just under $2,000 for a trio of designated charities: the C.H.I.L.D. Foundation, the Crystal Gala Foundation, and Holmberg House.

"It was great," said Michael Fisher, tournament co-ordinator and Ledgeview club captain. "It was probably one of the most fun of these events than we've had in years. We had excellent sponsors, and it was great how the local business community stepped up."Robert Simpson of Premo Kitchen Cabinets, lead sponsor of the Ledgeview Mixed Invitational, tees off on the first hole on Saturday.
