Former UFV basketball standout Sam Freeman has signed with the Bellingham Slam of the International Basketball League.

Former University of the Fraser Valley basketball standout Sam Freeman has signed with the Bellingham Slam of the International Basketball League.

Freeman, a 6’3″ guard from Coquitlam, was a Canada West first team all-star and finished second in conference scoring (21.2 points per game) during his senior season, 2012-13. He’s also second all-time in three-pointers made (252) in Canada West history.

Freeman will make his Slam debut at the team’s home opener on April 25 against the Seattle Flight, at 7 p.m. at Whatcom Pavilion in Bellingham. For more information, visit www.bellinghamslam.com.

KINGS’ THOMPSON INVOLVED IN LOCAL CAMP

NBA player Jason Thompson is making an appearance at a local basketball camp next week.

Thompson, who plays for the Sacramento Kings, will be involved in Performance Skills Academy Camp, which runs April 24-26 at Abbotsford Senior Secondary. The sessions are for boys and girls in Grades 7-12, and cost is $150 per player. To register, email pcacamp@hotmail.com.
