Former University of the Fraser Valley basketball standout Sam Freeman has signed with the Bellingham Slam of the International Basketball League.
Freeman, a 6'3" guard from Coquitlam, was a Canada West first team all-star and finished second in conference scoring (21.2 points per game) during his senior season, 2012-13. He's also second all-time in three-pointers made (252) in Canada West history.
Freeman will make his Slam debut at the team’s home opener on April 25 against the Seattle Flight, at 7 p.m. at Whatcom Pavilion in Bellingham. For more information, visit www.bellinghamslam.com.
KINGS' THOMPSON INVOLVED IN LOCAL CAMP
NBA player Jason Thompson is making an appearance at a local basketball camp next week.
Thompson, who plays for the Sacramento Kings, will be involved in Performance Skills Academy Camp, which runs April 24-26 at Abbotsford Senior Secondary. The sessions are for boys and girls in Grades 7-12, and cost is $150 per player. To register, email pcacamp@hotmail.com.
