ASC earns medals

Abbotsford figure skaters post strong showings at Chilliwack event

The Abbotsford Skating Club tore up the ice in Chilliwack at the Skate Canada Super Series Autumn Leaves competition, with several locals taking home hardware.

The event ran from Oct. 16 to 18 and saw Abbotsford skater Kendra Russel take the club’s lone gold medal in the bronze interpretive division.

ASC members Madison Johnson and Megan Geddes earned bronze medals in the gold interpretive and gold ladies divisions, respectively.

Other skaters with top 10 finishes included: Emma Harley (fourth, junior silver), Jessica Pawlovitch (sixth, junior silver), Taralyn Geddes (seventh, senior silver), Ainsley Young (seventh, Star 5 girls 13 and over) and Jennifer Oh (ninth, senior bronze).

The next big event for the ASC is Jingle Blades, occurring in Aldergrove from Nov. 19 to 22.
