Abbotsford Christian School’s Yelissa Beugelink will be continuing her basketball journey close to home.

The Grade 12 student announced her intention to stay local earlier in April and will be joining the Abbotsford-based Columbia Bible College Bearcats women’s basketball team in the fall.

The team posted a photo on Instagram making the news public.

Beuegelink and the ACS Knights finished third overall in the Eastern Valley Athletic Association’s 2A division this year with a record of 5-2. However, the team failed to qualify for the 2A provincials.

Beugelink also excelled in track and field during her time at ACS, competing primarily in the hammer throw and shot put.
