Fresh off taking home an Eastern Valley Athletic Association banner, the Abbotsford Panthers enter the 3A basketball provincials ranked second and are the top-ranked local girls team heading into the championships.
The 4A, 3A and 2A championships run from March 1 to 4 at the Langley Events Centre.
The Panthers open the tournament by taking on the 15th-seeded Mark R. Isfeld Ice at 8:45 p.m. on March 1.

The MEI Eagles, the club that Abbotsford beat in the 3A EVAA finals, enters the event as the five seed. MEI takes on the 12-seeded Vernon Panthers at 1:45 p.m. on March 1.
Also competing in the 3A tournament is the Robert Bateman Timberwolves. Bateman finished third in the EVAA and enter the tournament as the 11th seed. The Wolves take on the seventh-seeded Sa-Hali Sabres at 3:30 p.m. on March 1.
The lone Abbotsford senior girls team heading to the 4A tournament is the Yale Lions, who enter the event ranked fourth. Yale opens against the 13th-seeded Dr. Charles Best Blue Devils at noon on March 1.
The 2A tournament features two Abbotsford teams entering the event as the high seeds in round one.
The ninth-seeded Abbotsford Traditional Titans open against the Kalamlaka Lakers at 10:15 a.m. on March 1. The 13th-seeded Abbotsford Christian Knights kick off the tournament against the fourth-ranked Holy Cross Crusaders at noon on March 1.
