Abbotsford Rugby Football Club hosting playoff game on Saturday

Men’s division 1 team hosts Westshore at Exhibition Park starting at 11 a.m.

The Abbotsford Rugby Football League men’s division 1 club is heading into the postseason on a high and host a playoff games host playoff games on Saturday (April 1).

The division 1 team finished the regular season in first place in the province with a record of 14 wins and one loss. The club outscored its opposition 828-216 in those 15 games. They closed out the regular season with a 94-0 win over the Vancouver Rowing Club on March 25.

They host Westshore at Abbotsford’s Exhibition Park on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The women’s division 1 team is also in the midst of an excellent season and currently have a record of 5-0. They have outscored the opposition 203-114 and most recently posted a 55-22 over the Vancouver Thunderbirds on March 18.

The women close out the regular season against the Castaway Wanderers in Victoria on Saturday 2:30 p.m.

Playoffs for the women begin next week and it’s likely that they will have the opportunity to host a playoff game.

In other ARFC news, the club’s 50th anniversary banquet and awards night is scheduled for May 13 at the Straiton Hall.

Organizers state that there will be buffet dinner, a look back at the club’s impressive history through photos and stories and time for attendees to reminisce.
