Abbotsford pitchers on target at horseshoe tourney

The Abbotsford Horseshoe Club hosted an open tournament last week which drew pitchers from B.C., Alberta, Washington and Arizona.

The Abbotsford Horseshoe Club hosted an open tournament last week which drew pitchers from B.C., Alberta, Washington and Arizona.

Four individuals from the local club notched top-two finishes at the event. In the mixed B division, Dan Coffin edged Elaine Stern for the title. Abby's Irvine Thorpe won the mixed C crown, while Ken Smorang was the second-place finisher to Don Eby of Washington in mixed D.

Other division winners included Alex Carson of Arizona (men's A) and Eiam Tricky of Washington (mixed A).

The Abbotsford Horseshoe Club hosts fun nights at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, and their next tourney is the Highwayman/B.C. International, July 6-7. Call Archie at 604-854-2019 or Darryl at 604-864-0622 for more information.
