Three Abbotsford lacrosse products are set to represent Western Canada on a big stage later this summer.

Local athletes Colten Cap, Erik Levings and Tage Pennell are all heading to the World Junior Field Lacrosse Championships in Denver, Colo. in July.

The threesome qualified for the Western Canada team after weeks of tryouts for the B.C. Evolve Elite Lacrosse team. They competed against other youths for a combined 18 hours and earned a spot on the team.

Cap, Levings and Pennell are all in the 12/13 age group, and have been playing lacrosse together in Abbotsford since the tyke level.

They are all currently on the same box lacrosse team – the Abbotsford Warriors – and recently finished the Valley Attack field lacrosse season together back in February.

The boys will continue training with the team every other week in New Westminster until the championships in July.
