The Abbotsford Minor Fastball Association hosts an annual Spirit of the Game tournament for U11 recreational teams in B.C.

Hundreds of young athletes are prepared to take to the diamond this weekend for what may be their first softball tournament as the Abbotsford Minor Fastball Association (AMFA) hosts its seventh annual Spirit of the Game competition.

Every May, U11 recreational teams gather together in Abbotsford for this tournament, which AMFA explained is the highlight of each season for most players and coaches.

"We look forward to providing your players an opportunity to build connections with teammates, participate in skills competitions, play lots of ball, and explore the joy of sport," the AMFA said.

In addition to each team being able to play at least four games, there will also be a skills competition and plenty of awards to give out.

The games begin on Friday, May 9 and continue through Sunday, May 11.
