Abbotsford Falcons teams win VCFL title

Atom Black, Peewee Black teams win championship on Saturday

A pair of Abbotsford Falcons teams are Valley Community Football League champions.

The Abbotsford Falcons Atom Black and the Peewee Black teams were both successful in the championship games in Chilliwack on Saturday.

The VCFL Atom championship was an all-Abbotsford affair with the Falcons Black and White squads battling it out for the title.

Black edged White 24-12 in the game and it capped off an excellent regular season for the team, which finished at 8-1.

The Atoms head to Kamloops for the provincials for a round robin tournament starting at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday also saw the Abbotsford Falcons Peewee Black crush the Meadow Ridge Knights 41-6 to win the title.

The Peewee’s now take on the Vancouver Mainland Football League champions, with the winner advancing to provincials later this month.
