A pair of volleyball stars from Abbotsford Christian School are having a great summer on the court.

Grade 11 students Cole Brandsma and Brendan Visser are both participating in big international tournaments in the coming weeks.

Brandsma was one of only three B.C. athletes chosen to represent Canada in the “Select” Men’s Volleyball National Team program.

He trained with the team at UBC from July 8 to 16, and is now competing in Florida until July 23 to compete with his Canadian team in the U.S. High Performance Championships.

Visser was recently chosen to represent Team BC in volleyball. He trained at UBCO in Kelowna from July 10 to 19, and now heads to Quebec from July 19 to 23 to compete in the National Team Challenge Cup (NTCC).

Both boys will be gaining valuable skill development and experience to bring to the ACS Knights senior boys volleyball team this September.

The pair also enjoyed gold medal success last summer in volleyball at the Abbotsford 2016 B.C. Summer Games on the Fraser Valley team.
