Abbotsford bodybuilder Mark Bain ended his competitive career in the sport on a high note on Dec. 21.

The 58-year-old took home first place in the Canadian Physique Alliance Open 50-plus division at the Vancouver Pro/Am and Expo bodybuilding event at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster.

Bain’s very first show occurred at the same theatre back in 1984.

Bain was seven years older than all of the other competitors in the 50-plus division, and he was also recognized for his tremendous physique by being awarded the 40-plus division title.

“It was his last hurrah and he hopes that now he can inspire and help others to achieve their fitness goals as mentor and coach,” stated his wife Sandy Bain.
