The AAA high school boys basketball season heats up this week, as the Fraser Valley East league playoffs tip off at Columbia Bible College.
The tournament opens Wednesday, with MEI vs. Sardis (6 p.m.) and Rick Hansen vs. Maple Ridge (7:45 p.m.). The winners of those games advance to the top-eight main draw of the East playoffs and clinch a spot at next week’s Fraser Valley Championships, while the losers are eliminated.
Thursday’s games feature Yale vs. the MEI-Sardis winner (3 p.m.), Brookswood vs. Robert Bateman (4:45 p.m.), Walnut Grove vs. the Hansen-Ridge winner (6:30 p.m.) and Abbotsford Collegiate vs. W.J. Mouat (8:15 p.m.).
The semifinals run at 6:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. on Friday, and the final is set for 8:15 p.m. on Saturday. For a full schedule, visit bchsbba.com.
