Water costs a ‘nightmare’

The tiered water system has us living a costly nightmare.

The tiered water system has us living a costly nightmare.

We are a large household with teens/young adults (four bathrooms). Apparently an unknown run-on toilet problem has just cost us more than $400 in water usage (over two months). Our bi-monthly bill jumped from $162 to $657. We are in shock and while we will try to work with the city toward a solution, we can’t afford to live this way.

We have instituted a ban on flushing urine and our students are going to shower at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre (since they pay for it with their tuition fees).

We are looking to retire somewhere cheaper to live.
