Remember why we vote

Attending the Vimy Ridge candlelight vigil on Saturday, April 9, I watched as those who “stand on guard for thee” paraded to the cenotaph.

Re: Chris Bryan column, April 9, “Don’t worry, someone will vote for you.”

Bryan writes: “They’ll talk about how privileged we are to have the vote in the first place, pointing to our free society – they might even mention the world wars.”

Tears of remembrance for not only those lost at Vimy, but all the wars thereafter and present. They gave their lives for “Our land, glorious and free.”

So, ask yourself, “Why do we vote?”
