Water rates will keep going up no matter what we do. They just did because of all our water conservation measures resulted in a drop in revenue for city coffers.
If the city is disgracefully spending $200,000 of our money to try and convince us this is the right thing, then they won’t be talking about any other options at a public information meeting. However, paying the private partner 7.59 per cent interest on their $95-million investment in the project is outrageous when borrowing costs are at historic lows.
