Robert T Rock's letter is a simplistic assessment of Islamic extremism. History shows for centuries Middle Eastern people's have warred with each other without any of encouragement from the West.
Before there was an America or an Israel there was carnage and extremism. ISIS is driven by a twisted interpretation of Islam. It's goal is a worldwide Caliphate under their control. No country is safe, even the Arab countries are on board to fight them.
The terrorists can't abide the ancient antiquities of Middle Eastern countries and call them idols to be destroyed. No influence from the West there.. Any organization that would behead journalists or aid workers would certainly have a "disbeliever's" They recently added Canada to their targets.
Lo and behold three Afghan army officers training in the U.S. Went missing, they were found at the Canada U.S. Border. I guess they wanted to see Niagra Falls. Whatever influences played a part we're in a fight for our future safety, we live in one of the best countries In the world. In the future don't be part of bringing it down.
