LETTER: Thanks for Clayburn Heritage Days

Every garden, stain glass window and back alley shone in the sun that day.

I just wished to say thank-you to the folks in Clayburn Village for the wonderful day many of us had at their Heritage Day on Sat. Aug 23. Many in the village volunteered to make it a happy time for everyone who came out.  The funds raised go towards maintaining the heritage school and church on Wright St.

Families opened their heritage homes for tours, Creative Edge dancers performed, many folks dressed up and answered questions to the public.  Mayor Banman came out with his smiles and best wishes. Everyone there showed how a small community can come together to share their day having fun and making memories.

I especially enjoyed the tea and scones served with real china tea cups and saucers.

The Clayburn village must be proud of their efforts. Every garden, stain glass window and back alley shone in the sun that day.

Thank-you again,

Leona Oren, visitor
