Re: Teachers’ salaries.

I am employed as an education assistant and earn a lower annual salary than the teachers I work with.

However, if teachers were paid a minimal daycare rate of $50 dollars per student per day for 30 plus students, their annual salary would be around $300,000.

In addition to daycare services provided, teachers  must provide academic instruction, report cards,  meetings with parents, etc.

On a per student basis, teachers actually earn less than education assistants.  Do you think teachers choose their profession for the easy money?

Please think before you simply react to government rhetoric designed to confuse the real issues behind teachers’ job action.
