Yes, I have empathy for those running from terror and war. But it makes me wonder how Governments can suddenly find funds and amenities for refugees, when we have people who served their country living on the streets with nothing. They too have little hope and need help (some suffer from mental health problems) and the medical facilities that could be used, are there are still standing (Riverview) – in need of repair or replacement, granted – but closed down for lack of funds.
The flow of refugees is enormous and increasing daily. This is a world problem and I believe the world should step in and remove source of the danger at far less cost than relocating refugees. This the 21st century we have the capabilities to do it, but NOT the political will
