LETTER: Politicians should protect people from cannons

Farmers who use propane cannons should be criticized

Re: Cannon conflict, July 25 edition.

Your coverage of the issue with cannons near residential neighbourhoods was much appreciated. I still do not understand why there is so much reluctance to criticize farmers who subject their neighbours to non-stop gunshot sounds all summer long, especially since there are alternatives to cannons.

My hope is that local politicians will stop hiding from the issue and protect people from farmers who seem unconcerned that they have turned quiet pastoral areas into the sounds of a war zone.
