I am one of graduates of the UFV Bachelor of Fine Art degree program.
We all had a wonderful night at our gala opening. We had speeches, wine, great food and a heck of a lot of fun viewing excellent artwork. I came into my apartment complex, and was so tired I put down my bag in the lobby and left it there. To make a long, painful, story short, I lost everything from my grad. My grad photos, my new camera, my new Ipod Touch, my graduation suit, my grad catalogues.
Many great works of my art are on that camera they stole. They might get a few hundred dollars, but at what cost? My art is very important to me and I would love my personal belongings back.
If you have stolen my camera, Ipod, and all of my grad items, please know you will get little money for what you did, and have tainted the joyous occasion of my graduation day.
I’m a student with little money, and all I need is my art returned to me. Art changes lives, and I do make it for everyone, even for criminals that steal my work. (In hopes of changing lives for the better, that is. )
If anything, please return the memory cards to the police or Abby News. Keep the camera, keep the Ipod Touch, just please do what is right and please give my grad items back to me.
I think what Abbotsford needs is for more people to view art and create art, and less people to destroy and steal it.
