I feel compelled to express my disgust on such a ridiculously light and unjust sentence imposed by the judge on Mr. Leger. A reasonable sentence would have been more like 20 years (after two-thirds served) and a lifetime as a sex registry offender.
This sentence is nothing short of a second assault on this young lady. This is also a very good reason why many of the sexual assault victims do not come forward to report crimes against them.
Shame on this judge! I certainly wish this brave young lady a very happy life in her future. She is a courageous young lady and her parents must be very proud of her. God bless her.
