Regarding the SOGI related issues, materials and “debates,” it seems that the concern of many in our communities is that there is no actual debate, no free and open conversation or thoughtful and respectful debate.
As I read and hear it the basic view set forward is that sexual/gender identity and lifestyle is only a matter of personal choice, and any choice is as good as another. So one important question that is worth real conversation and debate might be whether all choices actually are healthy—psychologically, emotionally, physically, relationally—or whether some choices might be harmful.
But it seems that such conversation/debate has not been planned, and I assume is not to be allowed by “the powers that be.” The material described as “educational” has the heavy feel of “re-education.”
