It’s great to see that there are others in Abbotsford and area that area concerned about the over-abundance of crows and geese that frequent our parks and farm lands.

I will not take visitors or grandchildren to our foul-smelling parks with poop-covered walks and grass play areas.

It is high time the City of Abbotsford got a handle on culling the geese population in and around all our standing water parks and trails. They should take a close look at Okanagangooseplan.com. I spent a week in Osoyoos in June and didn’t see any geese in the lake or park areas.

As to the flying rats/crows, the best way to deal with them is by Mr. Browning 12 gauge.

My apologies to the bleeding hearts, but as C. Perry writes in his letter, they spread disease and garbage.

There was a time, not so long ago, that fish and game clubs throughout the Lower Mainland conducted fall crow shoots approved by their respective municipalities.

Let’s get together and make a concerted effort to reduce the numbers of both species.

Lionel Hogan, Abbotsford
