It was great to see your recent write-up about some atheists in Abbotsford lending a hand alongside the 5 and 2 Ministries.
I suppose one side “imagines no religion” and the other thinks we need more, but their squabble ends there. They both agree to love their neighbors (even the ones without housing). I like it. And if they are just looking for some good press, is that any more despicable than a Christian doing it simply for high marks with the Lord? I say no.
If all they want is to avoid being pre-judged because of their path and let people know they’re decent by doing a bit of charity, then I thank them for getting themselves in the paper and for picking up the slack left by missionaries trying to win over Africa. Someone needs to remember that Canadians need help, too.
Not that it means much, but you have my blessing, Fraser Valley Atheists. I hope you keep it up, even when the newspaper reporter isn’t around.
