It’s positive to see the annual operating deficit for our arena decline, but I think that the numbers are misleading.
What about the capital cost of the arena that we’re paying for?
That number should get included with the operating deficit to show the real cost of this foolish endeavour.
That’s a lot of money that could have gone elsewhere – such as policing and paying for much needed infrastructure upgrades. Just taking a drive westbound down South Fraser Way is enough to drive you crazy – every manhole is too far below grade, and I’ve already replaced one strut on my car after a mere 55,000 kms.
