I am dismayed to read Mayor Bruce Banman’s comment that Abbotsford has no appetite for the Ledgeview Golf Club. Ledgeview has been a wonderful ambassador for Abbotsford.
I travel quite extensively and have met many people who know of our city because of our amazing golf course.
Ledgeview’s Junior Golf Program and the much talked about “First Tee” Initiatives contribute to our youth in such a positive way.
Ledgeview can claim fame to many great young players, including amongst them Nick Taylor, who became the world’s top-ranked amateur golfer. There are countless other fine golfers, champions, leaders, and good people who contribute to our community.
Ledgeview is too much of an invaluable asset to jeopardize. I believe this board of directors, with council’s help, will keep this wonderful asset for generations to come, and we should all support it.
