Ledgeview an asset to the community

The deciding factor in settling in Abbotsford was that it had a high quality championship golf course.

We are responding to the Ledgeview $115,000 in assistance article.

We moved from Manitoba in 2000 and were and still are avid golfers. The deciding factor in settling in Abbotsford was that it had a high quality championship golf course. Without this we would have built and settled in another community.

We were very disappointed in Coun. Henry Braun’s misinformed opinions in the news article.

He asked how could Ledgeview lose money on food and alcohol. Perhaps the answer is in not selling enough of these products due to inclement weather as well as the downturn in the economy since 2008.

Why should members be paying a one-time fee of $635 as per his comment, when everyone in the community is able to take advantage of the facility? Yet only the members cover the shortfall? How unfair! Not to mention the arrogant comment suggesting many of the members are affluent. Not only was the comment inappropriate but it suggested that city assistance to other projects was only given because the community had no affluent people other than those members at Ledgeview.

It should be noted that every progressive city has at least one championship golf facility as we do.
