With heavy hearts and fond memories, we say goodbye to Zeke.
A family man and world traveller, an outside-the-box thinker, Zeke was also a lover of music, rivers and the ocean, rocks, roses and the forest. His legacy includes his many years as a teacher and administrator in SD#34 where he headed up Reach Out and Abbotsford Continuing Education (ACE).
He was loved and respected by students and staff alike. Along with ensuring students succeeded academically, he took them hiking on the West Coast Trail, winter camping, skiing, canoeing and many other memorable, life-changing activities. Zeke endured many health challenges with determination and grace.
Mourning and remembering him are Kathy, his wife of 51 years, daughter Jennifer Stock (Joel), and grandsons Gavin, 10 and Elliot, 5; the Doerksen and Bergen families, and countless friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Kristin in 2001.
Memorial service will be Sunday, September 19, at 3 pm at Emmanuel Mennonite Church (3471 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford).
