On a beautiful, sunny afternoon this sweet, quiet dignified 101 year old lady was moved to her final resting place at Ocean View Cemetery in Burnaby to be with her loving husband Harold, a WWII veteran, which made the day of her passing rather significant.
Yvonne had been encouraged to move to Abbotsford from Vancouver by her long time friend Kay, both born in Revelstoke and whose mothers were also best friends. When younger, Yvonne moved with her parents to Switzerland to be with her grandparents. Yvonne was a hair stylist by trade at Woodward's store in Vancouver. Predeceased by her husband (1988), brother Henry, sister-in-law Gwen and parents Gusto and Marie Rosse.
Thank you to Woodlawn Funeral Director Jonathan who officiated a lovely, meaningful service. Thank you also to Marilyn, DOC at The Mayfair Care Home where Yvonne lived for 8 years; as well as the nurses and care aids for their care and attention in making Yvonne's final years pleasant and lots of fun. Also thank you to Anne, a dedicated visiting companion and to Marg and Sandy for their help at home.
We were saddened to say our final good bye to Yvonne who will be greatly missed after spending 30 years with our family.
