PRIEBE, William (Bill)

September 20, 1925 - August 29, 2008

Bill Priebe was born on a farm near Flowing Well, Saskatchewan on Sept. 20, 1925. He was active in baseball and hockey whenever the farm work was done. The Flowing Well Church was a big part of his life and it was there as a young boy that he gave his life to follow Jesus. From that time on, his life reflected his love for Christ. He prayed about everthing and the deciding factor in every decision was whether what he did would please Jesus.

The Priebe family moved to B.C. in 1946 an settled in Abbotsford. Bill worked with his dad as a carpenter and in time became a superintendent of a construction company. He first noticed Alma Heppner when she was playing piano at a youth meeting and they were married by Clem Dreger on September 20, 1949. Bill had been baptized by Pastor Dreger just a month before.

Bill and Alma were charter members of the Sevenoaks Alliance Church. Some of his ministry roles included that of Boy's Club leader, board member, Camp Kawkawa worker and church usher. A later role was one of "coffee maker" and it is likely that he prepared over 200 thousand cups of church coffee. Underlying all he did was a solid ministry of prayer for other people and for God's work around the world.
