William (Bill) Seila Potts, 90, of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully in the presence of his Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2014 with his family by his side. Bill was born in Edmonton, AB on July 26, 1923. He was the youngest of three children born to James and Esther (nee Leggatt) Potts. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mina; children Jim (Coquitlam) and Linda (Abbotsford); grandson Joey (Coquitlam); sister Alice (Edmonton); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, mother, and brother Harry. Bill served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. For 25 years he worked for the Federal Corrections Service, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed cycling, officiating ice hockey, and travelling with Mina in their motor home to the Okanagan Valley, Arizona, California, and Nevada. Bill was a man of faith, he will be dearly missed by his family and in their hearts forever. Thank you to the staff of the Bevan Lodge and Abbotsford Regional Hospital for the wonderful palliative care Bill received during his last few weeks of life. A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the First Memorial Funeral Chapel in Aldergrove, BC, with Reverend Bill Booth officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
